C. W. Post Apple iPhone 3GS launching you could be forgiven for thought that every other mobile earphone maker has thrown in the towel – but definitely Samsung hasn’t. In a possible attack to steal some of Apple’s thunder, some images of the Samsung Omnia 2 have been ‘leaked’ online.
If these leaked spectacles ar right field Samsung has gone all out to come up with what they probably believe is an iPhone killer. The Omnia 2 comes with a 3.7 inch AMOLED WVGA resistive touchscreen, Wi-Fi, Global Positioning System and HSDPA connectivity. The Omnia 2 also comes with DivX support. Combine this with the large screen and you should be able to enjoy movies on the go. 8-megapixel cameras are fasting becoming the norm for new mobile releases so Samsung volition have to pull something quite special out of the bag to get the Omnia 2 to bandstand out from the crew. Thankfully, unlike Apple, Samsung has decided to include a dual light-emitting diode flash to go with the photographic camera – return that 3GS. The photographic camera also offers VGA video recording recording at 30 frames per second base. If you were hoping that this beast would run on Android then keep on hoping because it seems like the Omnia 2 will tally on version 6.1 of the Windows Mobile River operating system with TouchWiz running on top. It would be unfair to prematurely judge the Omnia 2 based on its selection of OS, but we can’t aid but feel a trench sense of foreboding at the thinking of actually using the gimmick. It’s departure to be hard for Samsung to shuffle the Omnia 2 bandstand out from other offerings on the market. The Omnia 2 is even in competition with another Samsung, the M8910 Pixon12. The original Omnia was very successful so prophecies of doomsday may well be premature. There’s no word yet on when the Omnia 2 volition actually be available or on what networks it will be on but we expect an official proclamation very soon. Source: Boy Genius Report
