Upcoming Bluetooth Version 4 to Enhance Battery Power Usage

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) announced the borrowing of Bluetooth® first gear energy wireless engineering, which is the hallmark lineament of the Bluetooth Core Specification Version 4.0. This sweetening to the Bluetooth Core Specification allows two types of implementation, dual-manner and unity-mode. In a dual-mode implementation, Bluetooth low vigor functionality is integrated into an existing Classic Bluetooth control. The resulting computer architecture shares much of Classic Bluetooth technology’s existing radio and functionality resulting in a minimal monetary value increase compared to Classic Bluetooth technology.

“With today’s proclamation the race is on for product designers to be the first base to marketplace,” said Michael Foley, Ph.D., administrator conductor, Bluetooth SIG. “Bluetooth low energy modules for all sorts of new products may now be qualified – this is an important measure towards our goal of enabling new markets with Bluetooth wireless technology. For example, the Continua Health Alliance has already selected Bluetooth low vigor technology as a transport for the next variant of its guidelines.”
