Gianni Versace working on its mobile phone

If Armani, Christian Dior and Prada tin do it, so can Versace. The famous lavishness sword is teaming up with ModeLabs for the “design, industry and distribution of Versace’s first base-ever range of luxury mobile phones.” The upcoming gimmick will be a part of Versace Atelier line of Haute Couture creations, and will be available through the troupe’s network of flagship stores and scoop retail partners. But before it smash the stores in spring 2010, it will be premiered for select Gianni Versace clients at an invitation-only, buck private showing that will be held during the Parisian Haute Couture week in January 2010.

Commenting on the announcement (PDF), Gianni Versace’s chief executive officer Giacomo Ferraris said: “This exciting coaction is consistent with Gianni Versace’s strategy of developing the brand’s strong business electric potential through a select number of agreements with key international licensing partners.”

And for the track record, ModeLabs is the company posterior phones for such brands as Christian Dior, Levi’s, Tag Heuer, MTV, and Hummer.
