Vodafone UK helps customers make charitable donations via text substance

From this weekend, Vodafone (New York Stock Exchange: VOD) UK is making it more attractive for customers to make donations to charities by textual matter substance, by increasing the amount of money the brotherly love receives.  Charities volition now receive 90p of every Ј1 donated by Vodafone customers when they give Ј1 or more via a five digit “short code” number which starts 70.

“Donating by textual matter substance is an easy and simpleton means for customers to spring to brotherly love and this change volition make it more attractive,” said Libby Pritchard, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Vodafone UK.  “Research by nfpSynergy has shown that citizenry understand there may be a small mission how ever they chose to donate.”

The 10p that is kept covers network and third political party costs.  VAT is no longer payable on the donation itself and is passed to the charity.

The main direction of Vodafone’s charitable activeness in the UK is the World of Difference programme, which gives 500 citizenry from across the UK the chance to work in a deuce month paid position for their favorite brotherly love.  The Vodafone Foundation pays each charity Ј2,500 to support the volunteer.   For further selective information sojourn here.
