US Movil look to acquire carriers in Brazil and Argentina

Latin US’s America Movil seems to be look at devising further acquisitions in Brazil and genus Argentina. In a filing with the U.S. SEC, the troupe said: “We may pursue further marketplace integration in Federative Republic of Brazil and genus Argentina depending on their price and conditions.” However, the troupe added that it “can spring no assurance as to the extent, timing or cost of such investment.” The plan is to invest as much as $3.5 one thousand million this class, with most money to be spent on meshing enlargement and improvements: 59% of this investment is heading to southland US, 15% in United Mexican States and the US, with the relaxation split between Central US and the Caribbean.

Federative Republic of Brazil and genus Argentina ar becoming increasingly important for the grouping, with former being America Movil’s second-largest market after United Mexican States — the carrier had 44.4 meg subscribers in Federative Republic of Brazil at the end of 2009.

Unsurprisingly, America Movil is not the only troupe with big ideas. Its rivals are thought along the same lines — for one matter, Brazilian operator Tele Norte Leste Participacoes (which is known as “Oi”) is looking at overseas expansion following the completion of its amalgamation with Brasil Telecom.
